A new begining, a plan for the future

VOLUNTEER AND ORGANIZE

Adopt a State ! We need 50 people to adopt a State and 3,077 to adopt a county.

Most responses to Gun Control and Legislation come from the top down, from National organizations down to their members. I propose a system that goes from the bottom up. from the grassroots.

I propose that all politics are local, and that local firearms owners working together in the cities and counties where they live is the way to have an impact on the gun control debate. That networking and organizing with others locally is the way to proceed and that it includes others within their States and between States.

There is a multitude of websites, a ton of groups, a truckload of information and resources available but I don't see them as being nearly as organized as they should be. Nor do I see where we as individual firearms owners are as connected and organized as we could be. A system of 50 State groups working with a coordinator in each of the 3,077 counties within the United States could have an impact.

Posting on social media sites is great, especially when its a good discussion but without focus we are really just flapping in the wind, not everyone wants to join a national group, pay memberships, or agrees with the direction that those groups sometimes goes.

Each of us that believes in the Second Amendment needs to be involved on some level, we need to speak out at every level, and there is room in this structure for all concerns to be addressed and aired.

Within the links contained within a county website might be blogs, target shooting groups, trading, political action,

What does that mean? adopting a state means that you are willing to put up a website that you control that is linked to crossroadsofliberty.com

You own the website, you control the content, if it becomes a site that promotes hate or violence it will however be delinked from the National Page. There are some caveats to be linked and remain linked to the National Page described below.

The National Coordinator will work with the State representatives to address issues and develop policies and protocols on the relationship between the State and National Pages as they relate to the Second Amendment and the development of the project. A closed mail list for those volunteers will be maintained to facilitate discussion.

The State Coordinators will put together a website that would provide a link to County Websites for each County in their State that defend and promote issues related to the Second Amendment.

State Coordinators would work with their county counterparts to develop polices and protocols for how to proceed and address issues related to gun control in their respective states and areas.

County Coordinators will be responsible for putting up a website that focuses on resources and issues that pertain to their local county. The goal would be to not only identify resources and encourage local involvement but to serve as a gathering place for like minded individuals who would like to be involved in the issues surrounding firearms.

Think of it as an political action group, a response group, a watchdog group a trading group, a social gathering group, a get to know your fellow hunters and collectors group if you will.

There are 80 million gun owners in the United States, not everyone is a member of the NRA, or the other formal lobby and gun groups but none the less everyone that believes in the Second Amendment hopefully feels that they should be a part of something larger than themselves when it comes to the responsible use of firearms and responding to problems and issues related to attempts to ban, confiscate or control firearms.

This puts a person on the ground in every county in the country, local campaigns, letter writing, calling elected officials have more impact coming from your hometown, it's easier to confront the lies about hunters and firearms owners from a local perspective, events can be cataloged as they happen and forwarded to the State and national lists, in the event of a shooting they can be there to digitally record the events afterwards.

It is my opinion that we need to work together and be organized from the ground up.

I am hopeful that others will agree to take part in the effort.
